Food composition and food quality
The composition, quality and safety of the UK's food supply impact on the health and well-being of the entire population, but are particularly important for pregnant women and children under the age of 5. Good quality diets contain a range of important nutrients that we all need for good health, and it is important that we have clear evidence about what our foods contain.
It is also important that we regularly review and reflect on the use of additives and novel ingredients in foods and drinks and have clear guidance about when these are safe.
